Recently in the Washington Examiner, National Right to Work Foundation president Mark Mix discussed the Foundation’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) attack against the shadowy Obama administration, which is refusing to let the American people know more about the close connections between Department of Labor officials and Big Labor operatives. As Mix explained, the Obama Administration has stonewalled on numerous disclosure demands, despite its promises of a new era of transparency.
After months of waiting for a response from the Department of Labor, Right to Work Foundation lawyers filed a federal lawsuit in U.S. District Court to force the Obama administration to fulfill its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act. Hopefully, this complaint will spur the Department of Labor toward greater disclosure. The public at least deserves to know the extent to which union operatives are rewriting laws and regulations put in place to ensure minimal standards of union transparency and accountability.

Obama Failure and Socialism More Ties To Big Labor
Reprinted here in support of the National Right To Work Foundation
National Right to Work Foundation president Mark Mix recently spoke with former Senator Rod Grams on the nationally syndicated Jason Lewis Show to discuss the Foundation’s efforts to force the Obama Administration to reveal its close -- and apparently unethical -- ties to Big Labor insiders.
The Foundation filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request last April seeking disclosure of the high-ranking DOL officials’ contacts with union operatives, but the Obama Administration has stonewalled on the request for seven months.
Late last month, Right to Work attorneys filed suit in federal court to force the Obama Administration to fulfill its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act.
Subsequent media coverage has revealed DOL officials apparently decided to ignore the Foundation’s FOIA request, but facing the lawsuit and negative publicity is now reconsidering their obnoxious non-compliance with the law. Additionally, one media report cited a high-placed source stating that panicked DOL officials “are in a tizzy and freaking out” because of the Foundation’s lawsuit.
This week, Foundation attorneys filed another FOIA request -- this time demanding the DOL’s search plan and interoffice communications – including emails, meeting minutes, notes, and other interoffice correspondence – relating to the Foundation’s initial FOIA request.
